Yarn care
All Kindred Red yarns come in a skein, and need to be wound into a ball before using. If you are unsure how to wind yarn, read this Craftsy article!
Always wash in cool water without agitation for color (and yarn) longevity. Use a wool wash such as Eucalan, Soak, Unicorn Wash, or Tuft Woolens, which are high in lanolin to help recondition wool. Never put wool garments in the dryer! Lay flat to dry.
Color bleeding may occur during your first few washes, especially on heavily pigmented colors.
Alpaca Haze requires some extra care. This yarn is not superwash and felts easily when wet due to the brushed fibers. When blocking or washing, handle gently and carefully to prevent the alpaca from felting.
Wind slowly and GENTLY. The longer fibers love to stick to each other when twisted together in the skein, and will snap if you wind too quickly. Winding slowly will make the ball/cake looser, which will help when knitting or crocheting as well.
